Edward was born with a rare form of arthrogryposis called Freeman Sheldon Syndrome. It causes major musculoskeleltal deformities, especially of the hands, feet, and spine. You can read more about it on Edward’s blog.
Tomorrow, surgeons will remove bones from Edward’s feet in an effort to help straighten them. They will also be doing some detailed radiologic studies of his hips.
Kids with arthrogryposis are especially prone to adverse reactions to anesthesia, so every surgery is risky. Please pray for a safe and successful surgery, and for peace and comfort for his parents.
