Aaron wrote a response to a comment we received on our last post.  It is a response, not just to our friend, but to the many, many people we’ve talked to who share her opinions.
This is Amy’s husband Aaron.  Thank you very much for taking the time to leave a comment on our blog.  [...]

In Loving Memory

My grandfather, Paul Widhalm, went Home today.
It’s hard to know what to say – how do you summarize a life . . .  a man . . . in a few words?
He was an incredible man.  An example of faith.  He prayed often, and he prayed loudly.  Whenever we were at the farm, we went [...]

Birthday Party pictures

We had such a wonderful evening celebrating Matthew’s birthday.  The weather was beautiful, and our backyard was full of our close friends and family.  If we counted correctly, we had 40 people here helping us celebrate (21 adults, 7 “big kids,” and 12 three-and-under!)  All the kids had fun playing on the lawn, and we [...]

Fun on the Farm

We just returned from a long trip . . . and it is really good to be home again!  We were gone for more than 2 weeks, so we’re busy catching up and resting up.
We went to Aaron’s family’s cabin on lake Coeur d’ Alene and had a wonderful, relaxing, much-needed family vacation.  The boys [...]

Here is what I saved in an envelope for his baby book.

One year ago, we learned about Matthew’s heart conditions, his Down Syndrome, his possible kidney and brain abnormalities, and his two club feet. One year ago, the doctors told us there was [...]

2 Weeks after Surgery

Matthew’s surgery was only 2 weeks ago!!  We really thought we would still be in the hospital at this point.  Matthew really couldn’t be doing any better.  He continues to eat well, and he is happy and playful most of the time.  He still has some gas-pain spells every now and then, but they are [...]

“That look”

It is really wonderful to have Aaron home this week – we are all enjoying the time together.
I went out to do a couple errands this afternoon while the boys were napping, and a funny thing happened while I was at Costco.  An employee saw me shopping and said, “Now, that’s the way to shop [...]
